Where They Live
Sand dabs can be found from British Columbia to California. They can also be found in the sea of Japan, the Bering Sea,and around Cape San Lucas, Baja California. They live in mud and sand. There is alot of things you need to know about sanddabs an one of them is that they live in cold temperatures. They also neeed to lay alot os eggs. It dosen't really raise them as they should tyhey just leave them in the water. Then the little ones start learning about what they eat and how to survive.

Although you may not know about it there are different spieces. One of the is called the speckled sand dab. And there is the long fin sand dab. The most well known is the pacific sand dab. The way you identify which is which. you have to pull back the fin and if it reaches it's face it's the long fin. Speckled sanddabs have little spots. And if it doesn't have any of these characteristic it's the pacific sanddab
